## Highlights

### A free tier with no expiry

You can now use ProductBrain free, with no trial countdown. The free tier includes **standing API and MCP access**, so your own agent can read and write the plan and run the [planning workflow](/api-reference/introduction) with your own LLM — no AI credits spent. It's the full machine-facing surface, not a teaser.

A free project holds up to **50 nodes**. It's a soft cap, checked when you add a node, so you can always delete to make room. It's there to keep the free tier sustainable, not to start a clock. Outgrow it and the paid tiers lift the cap.

Nothing to lose by trying it: shape a real plan, hand it to your agent, and see whether it earns a place in how you build. Start in the [Builder quickstart](/guides/builder-quickstart).

### The live view works on every tier, free included

Realtime is now baseline on every tier. Drive the canvas from the CLI or your own agent and watch it update live — on the free tier too. The loop where your agent reads the plan and drives the view is no longer behind a paywall.

### Export your plan as OKF

Alongside JSON, you can now export a project as an **Open Knowledge Format** bundle — portable, typed Markdown that any agent can read. Your strategy is yours: take it anywhere, any time.

## Other improvements

* **Lapsed plans fall back to free, not locked out.** If a paid plan lapses, your account drops to the free tier's rules — never read-only, never a lockout. You keep working under the free cap, with a reminder to renew.
